The aim of this newsletter is to complement the news-based website, with a primary focus on price-based information over the previous period and to advise of forthcoming company announcements (see bottom) and IPOs.

Winners and losers: 4th April - 2nd May 2008

THE WINNERS

1. Australian Renewable Fuels +62.50%

On the 18th April, ARF signed a five-year biodiesel supply deal to a Western Australian Resource Company. The deal amounts to 5 million litres of biodiesel a year rising to a target volume of 7.5 m litres. On the 26th April, ARF was rumoured to be seeking a a rights issue and the stock has since emerged from a trading suspension.

2. Torrens Energy +58.33%

Prior to the arrival of a new government in Australia, geothermal stocks performed very well in anticipation of more favourable support from Kevin Rudd. Since then, there has been some fallback, now recovering on news that geothermal exploration is going ahead. On April 28th, Australia added 19 new exploration areas for geothermal expansion.

3. China Biodiesel +39.13%

On the 21st April, China Biodiesel, a stock that had suffered last year, reported a sizeable fall in its full year pretax profit due to increased raw material costs, down to 16.79 million renminbi, but increased sales from biodiesel by 23.24 %.

4. Xantrex Technology +38.32%

Canada-based Xantrex, who make inverters for solar and wind electricity generators, on April 29th announced a Q1 profit of $541,000 compared with a loss a year ago. Sales were also 50% up to $62m in the three months ended March 31st.

5. Eden Energy +36.21%

On the 30th April, Eden Energy posted its Q3 2008 results which showed progress in coal bed methane and a hythane dispensing station in India, as well as plans to float its geothermal assets as Terratherma on the Australian Stock Exchange.

THE LOSERS

1. Millennium Cell -62.47%

On 23rd April, MC received a Nasdaq Staff Determination indicating that the Company failed to comply with the minimum bid price requirement for continued listing on the Nasdaq.

2. PowerFilm Solar -56.08%

Powerfilm is having a bad year so far, as some of the hype about solar stocks has been bringing its capitalisation down to earth. Annual 2007 results announced in March anticipated continued profitability and growth going forward into 2008, "albeit below current market expectations".

3. CMR Fuel Cells -40.62%

On the 1st May, CMR's CEO announced that their cash reserves of GBP 8m should be sufficient for planned operations until 2010. The annual report released earlier in April, showed a decline in the value of the assets, including cash to the previous year.

4. D1 Oils -31.58%

On April 19th, worries grew that D1 Oils was not yet ready for a recovery. Within the results was the news that some of the Jatropha plantations were written off - about 50,000 hectares.

5. Prometheus Energy -30.77%

Prometheus Energy is awaiting a de-listing on May 13th, from the London Stock Exchange.
